Stephen Lai is the Founder of Hong Kong-based  ‘Beyond the Tree’, a business development and marketing consultancy for law firms; and Founder &  Managing Director of Conventus Law.  With over two decades of experience working with law firms across Europe and Asia, Stephen brings deep expertise in helping firms navigate resource constraints and compete in a demanding market. A strong advocate for equal access to tools and data, he has supported firms in leveraging analytics, refining strategies, and achieving measurable outcomes.

Stephen’s career spans leadership roles in legal marketing and business development, alongside founding entrepreneurial ventures in the media and fintech sectors. His work is grounded in the belief that positive, goal-driven cultures foster collaboration and drive success.
